
Michael has presented numerous multimedia conferences around the world, at schools, universities and for the general public.

In 2001, he was part of an international team of scientists that for the first time demonstrated a link between White Shark populations from Australia and South Africa using DNA, a study published in the scientific journal Nature.

In 2004, Michael again was part of another scientific team that discovered Nicole, the White Shark who was tracked swimming from South Africa to Australia using a satellite tag, and then returned to South Africa, a study published in the scientific journal Science.
Michael Scholl’s research and conservation efforts have been featured in numerous television documentaries (BBC, National Geographic, VOX’s Wolkenlos, NDR’s Mare TV, RTL’s Explosiv Magazin Spezial, Discovery Channel, etc.) and magazines (BBC Wildlife Magazine, Africa Geographic, GEO Magazine, etc.).
In 2006, Michael published a reference book on Sharks 'South Africa's Great White Sharks' (Struik Publishers) with co-author Thomas P. Peschak.
During 2007, he worked for an organisation based in Dubai UAE, Mejreno Team, and spent time exploring and documenting the remote region of the Yemeni archipelago of Socotra in the Indian Ocean. Michael returned to Switzerland at the end of 2007.
Michael remains active in the world of Sharks, but his concern has shifted from research to conservation with BlueXplorer and TransFrontier Africa.
