Mille milliards de pattes (et au moins autant de plumes)

My former professor of entomology at the University of Lausanne, Prof Daniel Cherix, and former Zoology Museum of Lausanne curator, Dr. Daniel Cherix, but more importantly, my friend, Daniel, inaugurated and officially launched his lated publication today: 'Mille Milliards de Pattes (et au moins autant de plumes)' or 'Thousand Billion Feet (and just as many feathers)' at a congenial gathering organised in the museum in Lausanne.

This latest book includes a revised selection from the weekly chronicles he wrote for the Sunday newspaper Le Matin for over a decade since the late 90's. His articles were always captivating and have marked all generations for the past decade. Daniel touched on many subjects related to nature news, latest scientific discoveries and unknown species in his chronicles, and the 190 that have been selected and updated to include the latest research, have been divided into four sections in this book: invasive species, endangered species, new species and funny species. The book has been cleverly and beautifully illustrated by Daniel's former colleague at the museum, Michel Krafft.

I just got my signed copy of the book and look forward to reading, re-reading and re-discovering these articles! But I can already tell you that this will be a great book to read for anyone interested in nature and its wildlife! Enjoy!
