The weekly newspaper 'Terre et Nature' published a series of five articles during the past month on french-speaking Swiss who dedicate their lives to protecting nature:

Thierry Grobet is in Ethiopia to film a documentary on the last African wolves (January 26, 2012 edition), Giulio Cuccodoro left for a remote region in the north of India to collect rare beetles and to raise awareness about sustainable development among the local population (February 2, 2012), Alexandre Roulin promotes the conservation of the barn owl in Israel and their important impact on rodent populations in agriculture (February 9, 2012), and Patricia Tella's battle for the conservation of Green Sea Turtles in the Comoros (February 16, 2012).

Ciné du Musée: Sharkwater

On Saturday March 3, 2012 at 14h30, the Museum of Zoologie of Lausanne will present Rob Stewart's 2007 award winning documentary film Sharkwater in the Ciné du Musée 2011-2012 cycle. PANGAEA Young Explorers Amazon Selection Camp - First days

The 11th PANGAEA Young Explorers Selection Camp for Mike Horn's Expedition to the Amazon in Brazil takes place from Monday January 30 to Thursday February 9, 2012. During these 11 days, I am staying in Château-d'Oex at the Mike Horn Expedition Centre in the Hôtel-de-Ville as our days start before 7 AM and usually extend beyond 11 PM every day.
